About me

I am a Consultant Oral Surgeon with over 20 years experience in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. I am recognised by the General Dental Council (UK) as a Specialist in Oral Surgery and by the Jordanian Dental Association as a Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

I graduated from the University of Jordan with honours in 1997. Subsequently I obtained a Masters Degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with distinction from the world renowned Eastman Dental Institute in 2000.  I also gained my Membership from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

I did my specialist training as a visiting specialist registar in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University College London Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital. I was one of a handful of singly qualified surgeons to be allowed to train as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in the UK. My rotations covered all aspects of treatment in the field including facial deformity and trauma.

My Specialist interests include all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including impacted wisdom teeth, bone grafting and dental implants. I also carry out operations for facial deformity (orthognathic surgery), minimally invasive TMJ surgery and facial trauma. I work alongside other specialists in dentistry and medicine across the various sites who compliment my skills, offering the patient a seamless experience.

I run a hands-on training course to enhance the younger generation’s technical skills in oral surgery as part of my on-going commitment to clinical teaching and training. I also provide one to one mentorship courses aimed at dentists with specialist interest in oral surgery.

I organised and ran a free educational webinar series covering various topics in oral and maxillofacial surgery. The webinars were highly successful and reached more than 85 countries worldwide. Based on the feedback received, I continue to put together webinars in collaboration with other colleagues in different specialities.

Patient Testimonials

I recently had what my dentist expected to be a complicated wisdom tooth extraction under the care of Mr. Theodossy.  The process went very smoothly – Mr. Theodossy was attentive, thorough and patient throughout – and my recovery was significantly quicker and less disruptive than I had anticipated.  My thanks go to him and his team for making the experience as stress and pain-free as I could have hoped!

I was very anxious and worried about having the procedure but Mr Theodossy was extremely understanding and he gave me so much care and attention, he even changed my initial  appointment on to another hospital  to accommodate my  anxiety needs for a more convenient time when I could have sedation. Mr Theodossy gave me lots of reassurance.  After me worrying so much about the after pain and probably swelling none of these happened, I didn’t even need a painkiller after the procedure. Thank you Mr Theodossy for being so helpful and making this a good experience.

I would like to thank you ever so much for all your help, which is part of the excellent service provided by Mr Theodossy. I consider myself fortunate to have been the recipient of difficult Dental Surgery by Mr Theodossy on two separate occasions, at the London Independent Hospital. On each occasion, Mr Theodossy was courteous, helpful, reassuring, and he made me feel at ease and comfortable at the pre-surgery consultation, during the actual surgical procedures, and at the post operative consultation.

I would highly recommend Mr Theodossy to anyone in need of difficult Oral Surgery.

I had issues with my tooth for over a year & NHS waiting list was too long due to the pandemic, I called up BUPA and was recommended to DR Theodossy. He was nice from the start and made me feel welcome. He helped me carry out the necessary procedures whilst being calm. I am so happy I got recommended to him.

Mr Theodossy and team were great. The whole process for my treatment, from arranging my initial consultation to my discharge, was incredibly efficient and hassle-free. All of my interactions with the team were positive and I would definitely visit them again if I needed further treatment.

Dr Theodossy was very helpful and friendly following an accident I had that left me with a laceration to the face. He saw me at very short notice and treated my wound to ensure minimal scarring. I would highly recommend his services.

I had two separate wisdom teeth extractions under local anaesthetic with Mr Theodossy. The expertise, efficiency, quality of care and professionalism with which he and his team conducted themselves was second to none. At every stage of my procedure I was well looked-after and informed, even staying in touch via Zoom during the pandemic. I could not recommend him highly enough.

My treatment at the BMI London Independent has been impressive from start to finish. Great communication from my consultant’s PA with appointments booked promptly and all my queries swiftly answered, even outside of normal working hours. Mr Theodossy himself was extremely professional but also friendly and reassuring, which put me at ease at a worrying time. The hospital itself has strict hygiene and social distancing practices in place, with temperature taking on entry and pre surgery Covid tests so I felt confident I was in safe hands.

Have had a successful operation. Kind and friendly service, which I would recommend to anyone who needs an Oral Surgeon

I was very pleased with all aspects of my treatment at BMI Hendon.
All the staff were very kind and attentive and kept me informed of everything.
Mr Theodossy was great and put my mind at ease.
I would not hesitate to use Hendon again.
Many thanks to all.

Mr Theodossy  is a highly skilled, excellent oral surgeon. I had a complex, impacted lower wisdom tooth. Scans had revealed the wisdom tooth was very close to the nerve running in my jawbone, therefore there was a high risk the nerve could be damaged. Additionally there was a cyst, which had caused bone loss to the adjacent molar, meaning the cyst and that molar would also need to be removed. So the procedure was going to be tricky and I would need to undergo general anaesthetic. It goes without saying I went in with trepidation, fearing there would be damage to the nerve. Thankfully the operation was a success. I am delighted with the results and and feel very fortunate to have been in such safe hands.  I’m very grateful to Mr Theodossy and would highly recommend.

I had an exceptionally smooth journey under the care of Dr Theodossy.

From the point of booking to the end of my procedure and the follow up I felt very taken care of and prioritised. The process was smooth, the staff were very friendly and Dr Theodossy is a fantastic consultant. He ensured I was informed of everything. I was a bit apprehensive but even the day of my surgery went very smoothly and everyone made me laugh which helped alleviate a lot of my anxiety. Clinically, my healing is probably the best of any surgery. There is barely any scar tissue and I feel this is the excellent clinical competency of Dr Theodossy. I would definitely recommend him for your Oral Surgery needs.

Mr Theodossy and Karen are a fantastic team to work with. My Theodossy was professional and reassuring; Karen is attentive and always quick to respond. My pre- and post-procedure care was excellent, and the procedure itself went very smoothly. Thank you to the team!”

I was a patient of Mr Theodossy who performed dental surgery for the removal of three roots and bone grafting in preparation for implant placement. As these were back teeth, the roots were long and curved. The operation at the BMI Hospital in London was very successful. There was minimal discomfort and the gum has healed perfectly. Mr Theodossy and his PA Karen explained the procedure thoroughly. I was, therefore, reassured by their scrupulous attention to detail and the operation itself was calm and problem-free. Post-operative care was also exemplary and I experienced no discomfort whatsoever. I was extremely impressed by Mr Theodossy and his team and, needless to say, I am very satisfied indeed with the result.
